IGRA council
The inner structure of the Research Training Group Interaction of Grammatical Building Blocks (IGRA) is based on the structure of other classes in the Research Academy Leipzig.
The extended IGRA council consists of the directly involved and associated researchers, the two IGRA postdocs, and two PhD students. It decides on study programmes, guest lectures, visting professorships, the appointment of the Brugmann Fellows, and the admission of PhD students (funded by IGRA-resources or otherwise funded). The extended IGRA council meets at least twice a semester.
In addition, there is the narrow IGRA council, which consists of the spokesperson and his or her deputy spokesperson, a postdoc, and a PhD student. The narrow IGRA council is responsible for the management of the everyday business of IGRA as a whole. It meets every second week in the semester, and irregularly outside the semester. The PhD students elect two persons who support their interests in the extended and narrow IGRA council. The goal of the IGRA council is to enable PhD students to appropriately influence the research programme, and thereby especially the choice of visiting professorships and guest lectures.
