Megan Giddings appointed as next Picador Guest Professor for Literature at the Institute for American Studies at Leipzig University. She will hold the professorship in the winter term of 2023/24.

We are happy to announce that American Studies Leipzig will welcome Megan Giddings as our next Picador Guest Professor for Literature in the winter term of 2023/24.

Megan Giddings is an assistant professor at the University of Minnesota. Her first novel, Lakewood, was a finalist for two NAACP Image Awards and an LA Times Book Prize. Her second novel, The Women Could Fly, was a New York Time Editors' Choice and was one of The Washington Post's Best Science Fiction and Fantasy Novels of 2022. She has received support from the Barbara Deming Foundation for Feminist Fiction and Hedgebrook. More about her can be found at www.megangiddings.com

At American Studies Leipzig, Megan Giddings will teach two courses. Megan Giddings will also give a public reading during her stay at Leipzig University.
