Virtual visit to DG Translation
The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Translation (DGT) is pleased to invite you and your students to take part in the annual virtual visit to DG Translation of the European Commission. The event will take place on 20 November 2025, from 09:30 to 12:00 (CET – Central European Time).
The aim of the event is to bring together master’s students in translation or linguistic studies, linguists and translators working for the European Commission, offering participants an insight into the translators’ daily work. During the virtual visit, participants will learn about:
- the work of European Commission translators
- translation tools and methods used at DG Translation
- the skills required for translators
- different translation profiles, and
career and traineeship opportunities at the European Commission
Professional translators from the Commission will share their experience and answer participants’ questions in interactive virtual rooms. The programme will include:
- an introduction to DG Translation, the work of translators, and career opportunities (in English), and
breakout sessions in each of the 24 official EU languages + Ukrainian, where students can interact directly with translators and ask questions.
Registration is open until 13 November.
Priority will be given to universities and linguists from EU Member States and Ukraine. Please note that places are limited to 3,000 participants.
