Planning your semester
As a student at Leipzig University, you have to register for modules and courses at the beginning of each semester. In our course catalogue, you can find out about the modules and courses offered at the Institute of British Studies in the winter semester 2025/2026. Introducing our study programmes
Before the start of the semester, we offer introductory events for the various study programmes, in which the degree programmes and courses are presented and your questions are answered. In addition, our study advisors have created presentations that summarize the most important information about your studies at the Institute of British Studies.

Prof Dr Ralf Haekel und Dr Martin Schäfer take you through the MA Global British Studies, introducing the Institute of British Studies, the content of our master’s course, and the recommended order to take our modules. They also explain how to register for modules, and discusses the university’s Moodle platform, which is invaluable for digital and hybrid classes.
